Don’t Wait…Register for the STEM Summit Now

The two-day Summit (Thursday and Friday/February 9th and 10th) will introduce you to K-20 best practices in education focusing on innovative teaching and learning in STEM. As attendees, you will be examining curriculum for incorporation of best practices in STEM teaching and learning. For our K-12 educators, clock hours will be offered.

STEM Summit: Emerging & Innovative Trends for Tomorrow’s Classroom

Video from the STEM Summit will be posted April 2011. You can watch Dr. Arthur Benjamin’s keynote presentation, educators and industry professionals presentations and panel sessions. STEM best practices and curricular modules will be posted to the website by the end of March 2011.

“The Life of an IT Professional: A Five Minute Story” Video Competition

Enter “The Life of an IT Professional: A Five Minute Story” Video Competition. It is open to all Washington State students currently enrolled in a two-year college information or computing technology program. The top prize is $1,000. Submit your video by March 31, 2011.

Collaborations with State Colleges Move Computer Science Programs Ahead

The Center of Excellence for Information and Computing Technology (CoE for ICT) works with multiple Washington State Community and Technical Colleges to align program degrees and certificates to current workplace technical knowledge and skills valued by today’s employers. The Center’s collaborative consulting and review services include analyzing current course content, with real-time ICT industry professionals insight into current and projected workforce demand. The Center ensures thoughtful, comprehensive program reviews, curriculum audits, and instructional redesigns that are supported by a team of experts with specialized, higher post graduate degrees in education, curriculum design, and a keen understanding of higher education policy and budgetary needs. Our consulting body includes networking, security, systems and database administration, web development and design, and software development and programming professionals with five, plus years of experience.

The Center welcomes solicitations for information and computing technology (ICT) college program (degree/certificate) reviews, redesigns, and audits.
