CoE Industry Advisory Board

The Center of Excellence for Information and Computing Technology identified a qualified and robust team of  industry professionals to act as advisors to/for our Center.  They were chosen because of their strong support of the Center and its initiatives, projects, and research.

Craig Marois is the current chair for the advisory board.

Lisa Edwards, Information Assurance and Security, Boeing

Lisa is a Systems Design and Integration Specialist for The Boeing Company in Bellevue, Washington. She is currently working for the Authentication Controls group in the Computing Security Infrastructure organization. She is responsible for product management of the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificate Management Infrastructure (CMI) Service. Our PKI services provide application, device and SSL Server certificates to our System Administrators and Application Managers. In addition, she has supported on Non-Boeing filtered access, Secure Remote Access, including supporting VPN products in the Security Perimeter Services group.

Lisa has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Information Systems from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Science in Scientific and Technical Communications, with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems, from University of Washington. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). In addition, she enjoys a healthy work-life balance with many activities including: skiing, hiking, bike riding, white-water rafting, swimming, gardening, shopping, and the circus arts at SANCA.

Steve Fox, Director, DPE, Microsoft

Steve Fox is a Director in the Developer and Platform Evangelist (DPE) group. He spends much of his time in the areas of Office and SharePoint development, regularly evangelizing at conferences and with customers both nationally and internationally. Steve has co-authored numerous books and articles on Office development. When not working, he enjoys movies, playing hockey, writing, and reading.

Valerie Goulds, Senior Support Escalation Engineer, Microsoft

Valerie Goulds has worked for Microsoft, in Developer Support for almost 11 years. Currently a senior support escalation engineer, Valerie’s primary technology focus has been troubleshooting networking, development and data base issues between mainframes and PC’s for enterprise environments around the world. She loves the diversity of these engagements and the challenge of each issue. There are never two issues alike. Additionally, she holds the role of knowledge engineer for her business division. Her duties include identifying trends through metric analysis to drive content creation and assist engineers with customer facing knowledge content.

When not in the office she can most often be found cooking for a group of friends or just tackling a new receipt. Her other interests include opera and travel.

Valerie was unanimously elected as a new CoE industry advisory board member at the July 27, 2011 meeting.

Craig Marois, Senior Network Security Engineer, Information Security, Boeing

Craig received his bachelor in science degree from the College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology. He went on to earn a master’s in science from the University of Maryland University College.

His areas of specialization while employed for Boeing include network security, cryptography, digital certificates, and network management. He has certifications from Cisco, CompTIA, and GIAC.

Aleksandar Petrovic, Front End Developer and Technical Specialist, Booking.com

Aleksandar is working for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance as a Technical Support Engineer.  He was formerly a Front-End Developer at Booking.com.  He has previously worked at Seattle Central College, and Auto Europe, LLC.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Aleksandar also has a programming certification from Seattle Central College and a Front-End Developer nanodegree from Udacity.   He is fluent in Bosnian, Croatian, English, and Serbian.  He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta.

Sean Robinson, Principal Data Scientist, Pioneer Square Labs

Sean Robinson is a research scientist working in the area of radiation detection and national security. He has led a variety of simulation, modeling and analysis tasks pertinent to detection algorithm development and placement of interdiction equipment at U.S. borders. He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington, developing source characterization algorithms for the NASA/DOE Gamma Ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) project. His current work as a researcher and project manager is heavily involved in numerical simulation, modeling, Monte-Carlo particle transport, machine learning and anomaly detection, as well as in the direction of international nuclear policy. Sean has served as project manager and science lead for numerous research efforts. He is currently involved in several projects, to develop algorithms to compare active and passive radiation images for object identification, optimize the capability of distributed and airborne detectors to spatially localize sources, and to model and evaluate the performance of hypothetical detector systems. Sean has been instrumental in the production of more than 50 internal and external reports..

 

Cody Rodefer, Senior System Engineer, Bellevue College

Cody is an innovative, customer-focused system administrator with experience in managing large-scale virtualized environments and supporting critical applications for thousands of users across multiple sites. He is proficient in system installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as maintaining security, stability, and uptime. As well as collaborating across departments to assess needs, resolve issues, and create custom solutions, Cody also excels at identifying and executing opportunities to automate processes. He consistently demonstrates his ability to effectively handle incidents and escalations. Cody is a respected project leader and team player with proactive approach and strong analytical and communication skills.

Cody is a senior systems engineer for Bellevue College. Previously he’s worked at MacMillan-Piper, Inc., Denso, and the University of Tennessee in systems administration work. Cody earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics with a minor in English/Japanese from Maryville College in Tennessee.

Theresa Cha, Senior Manager, Recruiting, Microsoft

Therasa is a driven leader that leads by example and who defines success by revolutionizing the way Microsoft does things for the organization. She is known for optimizing teams and connecting people together as a catalyst to deliver success. Optimization is her skill. Driving forward revolutionary ideas is her passion. Juan Ulloa, UX Designer, EagleView Technologies, Inc.

Juan Ulloa is a UX Designer for Eagle View Technologies.  Prior to Eagle View, Juan was the Web Specialist Lead for Bellevue College for over a decade. He spent his time managing the college web presence and finding ways to improve the user experience of users on the web. Juan enjoys work relating to user experience, interaction design, information architecture and visual communications.

When not in his office, Juan likes to spend his time with his family. His other interests include painting, photography, hiking and swimming.
